Introduction

Once upon a time there was a man and a woman who had the perfect life.  The house, with the white picket fence, and even a walk in closet.  The house of children with dogs wagging their tails.  This man and woman did everything together.  Cooking, cleaning, sport practices, grocery shopping.  You name it, they did it together.  He was climbing the career latter and she was in the middle of hers.  Laughter and love filled their home.

Then one day, a terrible knock at the door.  It was a horrible monster that invaded their home.  It stole the kids smiles and replaced it with fear.  It tested the couples love and the man's dignity and strength.  It tried to rip them apart.

The man quickly grabbed that monster and said, not today sir.  He showed that beast just what he was made of.

For 7 years that monster knocked at their door.  But every time it entered the family began to laugh at it.  The fear turned into strength.  The love grew stronger, and the family stuck together. And the family needed to.  The man fought that monster so hard he began to get tired.  His strength wasn't in his muscles, but in his mind and heart.

Then one day there was a knock at the door.  It wasn't the monster, it was an Angel.  The Angel told the man, you don't have to fight any more monsters. You have earned your super powers and its time to come with me.  You are tired sir, said the Angel, but when you come with me, I will give you the wings you have earned and the powers to protect your family forever.  Please dear warrior, come with me and be strong again.

And so the man did and the family wept.  The woman was broken and didn't understand.  Why couldn't he stay here with them?  The children lost.  For their father seemed to have been gone and out of their lives.

This is their story.  Her story.  After the monster called cancer.  After the Angels took him home.  The next chapter, the new journey, and how I will get through it.
